Compact transformer points (CTS) are designed to transform voltage from 20 or 10 kV to 0,4 kV and distribute it (may be also with metering) with one or two transformers up to 2500 kVA. A/S EF "JAUDA" produced CTS have 2 type boxes – Concrete Non Walk-in Compact Substation (CTSc) and Metal Non Walk-in Compact Substation (CTSm). Steel compact substations have reinforced basis with strength grade B-15, chap limit 0,5mm and earthing with arrow bolts, which are electrically linked with reinforcement. The concrete foundation has special technology – in its basis there is metal bath. Thus, the substation is safe from ground waters and chemical reactions, but in case of accident oil can not get to the ground waters. Those is why the A/S EF "JAUDA" produced substations have long useful life, but are considered to be environmentally friendly. For substation production the company uses aluzinc (tin which is covered with aluminium – zinc alloy using hot immersion galvanization method), and then finished and painted with powder technology. This extends useful life of products for several decades and increases UV rays resistance. In its turn the box of the concrete substation is monolith and made of water proof B II group reinforced concrete with strength grade B-35 and chap limit 0,2 mm.
The A/S EF "JAUDA" produced CTSs have ALSTOM or ABB transformers and switchgears, "EFEN"/"JAUDA" fuses, "Raychem" cable connections systems and "PFIFFNER"/"JAUDA" current transformers, but by clients request it is possible to use other variants. Such substation build fully complies with European standards, is safe, very compact and hardly requires any technical service during first 30 years.
The substation has auxiliary switchboard that ensures own devices (lights, sockets, thermo security etc.) feeding and security with automatic switches and fuse blocks. It is possible to install medium voltage metering system that ensure CTS measure electrical energy consumption, including transformer losses (schemes and technical information is available in attached catalogue). The transformers have increased thermo safety – the special thermo relay fixes transformer temperature and if the allowed limits are reached, the safety switches switch off the voltage. If the A/S EF “JAUDA” substations need transformer change (not enough power, damage, etc.) it is easy to do so by lifting the cap. It is planned to install transformers with primary voltages through 2500 kVA or 2 x 2500 kVA, but reinforced concrete substations can have only through 1000 kVA or 2 x 1000 kVA. One transformer substations can have maximum up to 5 section SF6 insulated switchgear and up to 12 outgoing-feeders. But two transformer substations can have as a standard variant each section up to 10 outgoing-feeders and up to 4 sections SF6 switchgear. If transformer primary voltage is 1000 kVA and higher then medium voltage switchgear with power switch is used. At client request CTS can be designed with sectioning and automatic reserve systems, emergency power supply systems, power engines or any other operation or control system. Before client acceptance the company produced CTSs are fully tested. For example substation earthing distributor is tested under 2500 V for 1 minute. CTS medium voltage switchgear together with section wiring to transformers are tested under heightened voltage – 10kV, test under 28 kV and 24kV under 50 kV. During the test voltage decrease, short circuit and electric break downs are not allowed. The used testing device АИИ-70 No10741 is checked in the first quarter of 2003. Type testing to EN 61330.
The substation reinforced concrete foundations have the following quality tests: - Presence of cleft, pore or other mechanical damages
- If the surface is easy cleaned
- If the painting is dissolved by alkaline or water and if it is chemically resistant.
A/S EF "JAUDA" produced concrete base substations are good for installation in cities and close to the object with special aesthetic importance, since they are elegant and from the architectonic point of view can fit any interior.
Warranty for A/S EF "JAUDA" produced substations is good for 12 months from the moment of commissioning, but no longer than 18 months from delivery. Under the warranty the producer is responsible for CTS functioning in case the customer does not violate exploitation rules. Safety level: IP44.
